Using Missing-e to reply to a text on tumblr private? Need help with problem?

I am replying to a reply on a post of mine, and when I preview my reply, it appears on my blog's profile. I don't want that. So, I replied to their reply in "private". Does the person I am replying to still receive a notification from me that I have replied to their reply on my post? Their name is tagged in the post. I'm not very smart with tumblr, and I just want to make sure I'm doing this correctly the way I want to.

    No, they won't get it. You either post it on your blog, or you make it private. There's no way to control who sees it once it's posted - not unless you have your entire blog password protected.

    What you can do, however, is send them what you want to say in a message and hope they answer it privately.
