Yes, I know it's "Stay" by Sugarland but can someone explain this phrase? If you love someone why would you share them?

Well they say, or i say, that when someone is in actuall LOVE and love them so much that it hurts,then you dont care what the world thinks about you or what that Loved one think about you. Whether he loves you back or no. Love is a very strong feeling. Love is hurtfull.
And it would have meant that you love a man soooo much that you dont care if you share it with someone. You just love them.
Well,in reality,that kind of love doesnt exists.
This phrase could be taken sarcastically also, as in you love a man but he doesnt love you like that and dont gives your love that importance that he goes to other girl,who might not love him like you do.
