The Problem With the Knicks?
I'm not hating I'm just trying to figure it out. So on paper, the Knicks line up seems pretty boss.
Amar'e Stoudemire, I know he's been struggling lately but he is an All Star
Tyson Chandler, he's underrated. He's a lot better than people think he is.
Carmelo Anthony, I mean look at how he plays on Team USA.
Iman Shumpert, just a rookie but a lot of potential.
Steve Novak, a scoring machine.
Is it the fact that they have no chemistry or just aren't as good as I think they are..?

Why it didn't work with Mike D'Antoni...
Cause Mike D'Antoni system is structured on having shooters to spread the floor and centered around a ball dominant playmaker. Knicks outside of Novak's great 3pt shooting and Melo's amazing mid-range game Knicks lacked shooters and then some. For all the long shots Smith, Fields, Shumpert (got better making them @ season's end) Lin, Davis, & Bibby took they did a whole lot of clanking shots. Stat never had a pick n roll playmaker since Felton left and without it combined with his myriad of injuries and the death of his brother he isn't the same electrifying player. He needs the pick n roll to be effective and Mike D'Antoni team needs a playmaker. Lin was doing decently as a playmaker but he shot too much and turned it over way too much. Mike D'Antoni refused to make adaptations knowing that the roster didn't suite his system and also didn't let up on the unnecessary defensive switches of his.
When Woodson took over he made the adaptations and there is no surprise that the Knicks finished 18-6 in that span.
Melo played some great defense in that stretch while Stat didn't. When Melo wants to play defense he's quite effective. Stat on the other hand doesn't try on d and even if he did won't be good. He's a very good shot-blocker but with all his injuries this year didn't go after much of them. Stat doesn't have chemistry more with Chandler than Melo. Reason being is that Chandler although he shot 60% from field (Knicks franchise record). His offense comes from the painted area. The fact that he cannot extend his offense outside the paint doesn't create much spacing for Melo and Stat who both like to receive the ball in the same area foul line extended. When Stat typically receives the ball there and has the spacing he usually explodes to the basket. But with his injuries and Chandler in the painted area he had a tough time doing so and just settled for jump shots last season. Having Felton and the pick n roll back can change this as well as Kidd and Prigioni and Camby who unlike Chandler can produce offensively from 15-18 ft. out.
Melo plays much better @ PF than he does @ SF too. You can see it in his scoring and even his defense when he is matched with 4's. He is more than a 4 than a 3. Stat can play C but has always stated that he's unwilling to do so.
Also last but not least injuries have factored in not developing chemistry. Melo was playing through 3 injuries at the same time last year because of a lack of conditioning and it affected his game. Shumpert missed games during the season and sadly tore his ACL in the playoffs. Stat fought off a lot of injuries plus the death of his brother and also his game was affected because he added too much upper body strength to protect his back from injury last off-season. Chandler was playing through a broken hand in the playoffs. And as for Steve Novak he's a great shooter but disappeared in playoffs like every Knick past 2 years other than Melo. People say Melo should pass more but how can he when he does and his teammates clank shots in the playoffs. Novak cannot create off the dribble MIA read their scouting report and were on him like white on rice. Everytime he got the ball he would pass up shots or turn it over. Smith shot 3-16 and other guys didn't hit their shots either.
All in all though I think the Knicks did a lot this off-season to address these issues adding Felton, Camby, Kidd, Brewer,Prigioni, Thomas, & Copeland.

I stopped watching Knicks games a while back, I just don't know anymore. I just look to see if they win or lose their next game. At least they manage to beat Bobcats (The Worst team in the league). By the way Wizards beat them tonight as well. I just feel sorry for Knicks fans, they are some of the most loyal fans but the team is disappointing them night after night. Starters are playing like 2nd string, I think they will end up trading over guys bcuz there is probably no chemistry there.

First of all stoudemire is no longer an all star. Only reason he is still on the Knicks is they can't trade away his huge contract to any team. They have no consistent point guard to distribute the ball and Carmelo has no help. Novak is not a scoring machine at all, he's awesome for a few threes a game but he's not averaging twenty a game.... ever. Also, Knicks have no bench. The list goes on....

Stoudemire's best days are far behind him. His scoring has dropped, he can't rebound, and his defense is atrocious. I'm sure NY regrets giving him that contract. Carmelo is a good offensive player, but he has a reputation for being selfish and is a black hole on offense. Personally, I think he is somewhat of a cancer; he is one of my least favorite players in the league. Like Stoudemire, he too is atrocious on defense. Chandler is a good player and very effective on the defensive end, but doesn't really produce much on offense. They have some decent pieces, but they are still pretty thin on the bench. They will probably be a playoff team, but they are not in the same class as the upper echelon of teams in the NBA.

The Knicks have a lot of talent no question about that, but my problem is I don't think Melo could lead them to the promise land. Melo is a great player, he's an all star and one of the best scorers in the game but Knicks are missing a leader.

1.No consistency
2.Coaching Problems
3.Carmelo doesn't no how to play team ball
4.Too much hype
5.Amare's knees
6.And now theres no more Jeremy Lin

they have zero chemistry they get overhyped so when they play like they normally would people expect better they have bad coaching and once again they had too much hype enough that can ruin a team

Yep, Melo and Mare have chemistry issues and they can't defend worth a lick
