Calories burned question?

My mass is 78.18 kg. I simulate moving that mass 14516 meters on a treadmill. Here is how I calculate the work done:

W = F•S

W = (0.000239 kcal/Joule)(78.18 kg)(9.8 m/s²)(14516 m)

W = 2658 kcal

But the the display on the treadmill says 1329 kcal. Which is correct?

    The force being moved is not m*g; it is the component of m*g in the direction of the treadmill belt. To do the calculation, you need the angle θ of the treadmill with respect to the horizontal. The force is then m*g*sinθ and the work done would be m*g*sinθ*s

    Note that if the treadmill is flat (θ = 0º) the force is zero and the work is zero. The reason for this is that you are not including the work needed to move your body parts. Apparently that is to be ignored.

    From the answer you are given it appears that the angle should be 30º
