Why not get you and your friends parents to join the free to join/use UK online based not for profit recycling/reuse organisation ilovefreegle.org? Freegle means 'Free Giving Locally Easily' and is run entirely by over a thousand dedicated volunteers there are over 350 groups across the UK and more than 1.5 million members giving and getting stuff completely free of charge. You can post either a 'Wanted' ad and/or respond to offers for just about anything so long as it's free and legal.
Its easy go to the ilovefreegle.org website use the 'Find a Group' link type in your area or postcode and it will bring up all the groups in your area. Click on the one you'd like to join and follow the link to register. You'll get a confirmation email, click on the link and it will take you to your group. You can then click on 'Messages' to see what's being offered or requested and post a 'Wanted' ad and wait for a response. If someone contacts you with what your asking for you'll be able to arrange a mutually convenient day/time to pick the items up.
Tell your school and any clubs you belong to that they can post for resources free of charge too! Freegle has only one goal 'To Stop Good Stuff Going to Landfill' and in doing that support our local communities. Hope this helps :-))
