Should i bet a club set yet or just couple of clubs to begin with?
So i have started practicing a little and like the game but who knows if i am going to be passionate about it 2 years from now? My buddy (professional golfer) game me an old Pitching wedge and 7 iron to keep. Now when i go to driving range, i rent a putter and sometimes a driver.
is it time for me to buy a set of clubs yet or i am thinking just buy a old putter and may be a driver and keep practising for couple of months until i get my basics straight.
Another reason why i am not very convinced about buying the set yet is... I don't know what to buy? I mean, i don't even hit 5 out of 10 balls yet so who knows what is good for me?
Need serious advice guys, money isn't a problem for me but i don't want to spend $2000 on something that i hate after a year from now when i really start liking the game.

Maybe the clubs your pro friend gave you were right for him but they may not be right for you, so you are having trouble hitting those other 5 balls. If he's a pro they may actually be too stiff for you. You may need a regular flex to learn with, until you hone your swing.
If I were you I'd go to speak to a pro a a golf shop, let them measure you and suggest what would be good, and ask to hit a few of the beginner to moderately priced clubs. See what you hit better. If you go to a store like Golf Galaxy or Dick's Sporting Goods, Golfsmith, Edwin Watts, they have a hitting area where you can try clubs. A good starter set goes from about $149 (Walter Hagen),$199 Top Flite XL, $249 (Acuity Ti Plus, Maxfli), Wilson from $199-$399, and Adams at $499. Or you can consider buying used clubs.
