As a Democrat, I think the Joe Soptic ad should be pulled, thoughts?

Even though Mitt Romney may have played a minuscule part in this woman's death because of loss of health insurance, but as a Liberal, I find it very immoral to capitalize on this woman's death for political gain. Thoughts?

    I disagree.

A private, non-profit social organization has every right to run whatever ad it wants.

It's called "freedom of speech"; and it's Constitutionally protected under "Citizens United".

It's like that old proverb, "Be careful what you wish for. You just might get it."

Joe Soptic has been talking about this story since at least January, possibly longer. Reuters published a story about the whole episode right before the first caucuses. If what is stated in the ad is his honest opinion then I see no reason to pull it. I think that Romney is missing out on a golden opportunity here. He can turn this into a positive if he were to arrange a meeting with Soptic. Sure it would be viewed as a political move. Nothing a candidate does three months before election can be viewed as anything but political. However it would be better than the alternative where Romney's surrogates in the right wing media are criticizing a man whose wife died of cancer. That's going to go over REAL well with the undecided independent voters. At least if he met with Soptic he can attempt to present himself as a candidate who is willing to listen to what people have to say, and is not too proud to learn from possible mistakes.

    As a non-affiliated voter, I agree.

Just watch Bill Burton on Anderson Cooper. THAT guy is a slimy fking liar. It was creepy to watch.

And all this bullsh*t about how the SuperPACs don't coordinate with the candidates is bullsh*t. Hell Burton used to work for Obama less than a year ago.

@Griggnax............"A private, non-profit social organization has every right to run whatever ad it wants."

Yes it does. That DOES NOT change the fact the ad is factually misleading and implies some very bad things that are WAY below the belt.

Source(s): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTynx1hnfig "[I]f you don't have any fresh ideas, then you use stale tactics to scare the voters," he proclaimed, "If you don't have a record to run on, then you paint your opponent as someone people should run from, you make a big election about small things, and you know what, it's worked before because it feeds into the cynicism we all have about government. When Washington doesn't work, all it's promises seem empty". -Barack Obama, 2008

I disagree. I never saw the ad as an accusation that Romney killed anyone. It's about his mind-set in completely disregarding the people whose lives were affected by Romney's actions with Bain. Moreover, if you look at all the lies and negativity the Repulicans are putting out, that means Dems should do anything they damn well please. And that's why I applaud Harry Reid for calling out Mitt on the tax returns. And I'd say to you, this is the problem Dems have always had: Not fighting fire with fire. If Dems allow it, Repubs will run over them with lies, distortions, and fabrications. Why are you not admonishing Republicans for the outright lies they put out over and over in their ads?

Are you surprised at the depths to which Chicago politics will sink?

Obama is such a disaster. Most of my friends, all of whom are professionals, agree.

    He has got to go....
