Source(s): Personal experience as my mum wouldnt allow me to have my belly done and piercing shop wouldnt do it without her permission until I was 16. So thats where I went on my birthday! - 9 years ago
I know the blue banana article says 16 for genital and nipple piercings, it's actually 18. i trained as a body piercer for two years (although i am still trying to find work) and i have always been told by everyone i've spoken to, that just like tattoos, piercings in these personal regions are 18 and over.

Most places are 16 however i got mine done at 15 by signing a form saying my parents had given me permission, so i went with my friend and i've heard many places do this now so if this is true from 13 up you can get it done as long as you sign a form saying you've had permission otherwise its 16 :)
