Did I capture a Higgs boson?
Last night, I saw this thing in my back yard, glowing yellow-green and moving in an apparently random fashion. I caught it in a mayonnaise jar. (Well, actually, it was a Miracle Whip jar--MW is zippier and has no cholesterol.) This morning, it was gone! My wife thinks it was a lightning bug, but they can't pass through solid material like the Higgs can. I think I caught one, but the damn thing got away.

Well I don't think that it got away per-say, but it probably just decayed into other things that you couldn't see. Higgs bosons only live around one zeptosecond so just the fact that you were able to see it long enough to catch it is amazing. If you see another one I would call CERN right away as they mght pay you a lot for it if you can catch it again. But be fast!

WOW, you have captured literally billions of trillions of higgs boson. If it is a lightning bug, and it is made up of atoms, and they have mass, then certainly, there is atleast one higgs boson, which is highly certain. it could be that you have captured thousands of higgs boson... All the best, you are gonna be famous my friend! Just get some education, noble prize is yours!!!
