Windows won't startup on my dell laptop, what's the prob?

My dell laptop has a problem opening up windows. It says something like 'Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.' and then after that I was asked to choose between 'launch start up repair' or 'start windows normally'.

There were problem signatures like, Corrupt Registry and AutoFailover. And then I saw all blue background with words I cannot really read because it's so fast. I can select between Startup Repair, System Restore, System Image Recovery, Windows Memory Diagnostic and Command prompt but every option does not seem to solve it except for Command Prompt which I do not know how to use for recovering the windows. What was this supposed to mean? And how will I be able to bring this back to its normal state? Thank you. It's windows 7 by the way.

Um if none of them work i suppose you could set it to factory default most computers dont need the discs for that anymore but try that as a last resort as you will lose all your data ect (when starting your computer keep pressing f10 or alt+f10 to restore to factory default ) this will prob take 1-3 hours depending on your laptop ( btw if neither f10 or altf10 work try f9 )

    Hi Cris,

My name is Krishna and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell. Based on the above symptoms, It's more likely that you have a corrupt operating system. If your restore partition is intact, you should be able to restore your computer's software back to factory settings. You can follow the instructions from http://dell.to/eyFMom

Please Note: This erases ALL the existing data. This includes files, folders, programs, drivers, E-mails, photos.

    Regards,

Ya...it is blue show reveal screen errors situation.it incredibly is a controversy linked with the hardware..i.e., hence of a RAM or hence of diverse hardware linked with in ur computing device..... extra advantageous ideal bypass to a hardware supplier and rectify the situation because it incredibly is a computing device and larger ideal no to get screwed up with the laptops...
