    in my area there are city's were gay people tend to live and be a community. So all the places around are crawling with them. Maybe you can find out if you have a city like this by you and then you can just walk around doing what you do and pick up people

    I agree with james about volunteering, and I'm not totally sure i should be recommending this, given that I have never tried it, but I've heard a lot of people use Grindr.
