Fan issue help please?
So I am generally pretty knowledgeable when it comes to cars but this i just can't seem to find out the problem. I drive a 1989 Crx with a b16 swap. Now for the fan, it doesn't turn on when the car gets hot. It turns on whenever it wants to. I let the temp get to about 90 percent just to see if it would turn on. But it didn't. So then I turn the car off and put it in the on postion and it turned on. Weird right? Then I turn the car on again and it still is running. Then after it cools the car down it shuts off and won't go back on again. I heard the relay clicking, everything seems to be grounded properly. Any idea's?

I would check or replace the temperature control switch that sends the fan the electrical current. Maybe corroded and the change in voltage by turning the switch on and off sticks or unsticks it.Sounds primitive when I explained it but it is deffinatly worth investigating. Electricity does things like that all the time.

Just because you can hear the relay click doesn't mean that the high amp contacts inside the relay aren't burnt. I'd start there.
