Who is truly the second best player in NBA?

Most people would say Durant, but I can make a strong case for Wade and CP3 as well.

Lets not forget that basketball is a team sport and we are looking at the all around qualities of a player, not just how many points per game he averages, does he play for a big name team like LAL, CHI or BOS, or does he do fancy dunks and dribbles. All around player, is what I want to know about.

He's still the second best player being and all around player doesn't make u good rondo is an all around player but isn't in ur conversation. It is Kevin durant he's an amazing shooter has great size can play multiple positions can rebound and unselfish which is why he is the second best player right now. Dwight Howard is great scorer great rebounder will pass out of double team and a great defender but his inability to make his free throws knocks him down the list a couple numbers

I don't think there is any argument for Wade. Based on how Wade played last year, I would put LeBron, Durant, Westbrook, Love, Paul, Kobe, and Howard ahead of Wade. Even Tony Parker played better basketball last year than Wade, and with Wade coming off a knee surgery, I think we might have seen the end of Dwyane Wade being a top 2 or 3 player in the league.

I think the 2nd best player is Durant. True, Durant doesn't have as great of all-around game as some people, but the object is to put the ball in the basket, and Durant does it a lot better than anybody else.

You could make an argument for Chris Paul. I think if Dwight Howard can bounce back from back surgery, he will fight for the spot. Now that he doesn't have that drama in Orlando, he can go back to being the 2nd best player in the league, which he was during the '10 season.

Well if you talk about domination then you candidates would be Kevin Durant, Dwight Howard and Derrick Rose.

These players can completely take over games at will like LeBron (not as much Howard).

I would say Kevin Durant is the second most dominant with his scoring. But the problem is he can make mistakes and can only get going in the 4th which isn't bad but you need to be good early too.

Derrick Rose can easily take over games with his speed and his shooting is good. But Rose won't hesitate to take over games. Just a little competition by the other point guard ticks him off and gets him going. Me watching every Bulls game, I see this a lot. Especially against the Bucks Brandon Jennings. He may not show it but I can see it because I watch him. He and LeBron are by far the most fun players to watch even though I don't watch the Heat except playoffs. Derrick Rose also doesn't have another superstar on his team to also take over the game. KD has westbrook and a rising star James Harden. LeBron has D-Wade and All-Star Chris Bosh. D-rose Has luol deng who is good and Joakim Noah who is mainly good because of his rebounding and defenses plus minimal offense.

I think KD and Drose have the most ability to take over, but there is Howard also plus Kobe. I would say Kevin Durant is second, then at third Dwight Howard, then at 4th and 5th Cp3 or drose then D-wade then Kobe and so on.

CP3 was rated the second best player last year by the espn pannel of over 130 NBA experts, Durant was ranked 3rd, the year before Durant was 2nd, CP3 was 3rd

So, you can go with Durant or you can go with CP3, really its a matter of opinion

Kevin Durant is the best scorer in the game. LeBron is better, because he's a better rebounder, passer, and defender. Dwyane Wade is overrated. He lives at the foul line, and gets so many assists, because he plays with LeBron and Bosh.

Kevin Durant or you could say another player like Rose (healthy) or CP3! but the options are limited!

CP3, you can argue, but Durant easily able to dominate

a game with his scoring ability.

CP3, showing last year's playoff vs Spurs, you double him

he will panic. CP3 is good, but I don't know if he is there yet.

as for Wade. he is also a great player, but I don't give any credit

who injure all the time. he have the talent but clearly Lebron has

    taken his spot light.

Dwight Howard only two players can truly dominate a game right now. thats Dwight and Lebron

rondo and this is coming form a laker fan seriously this guy can do everything people question his jumpshot but i feel he prefers to pass than to score. just people under rate him because of his fans being obnoxious and because he doesn't affiliate himself with other top players and choosing not to go to the Olympics.
