Fantasy football trade advice? Just want some fresh outlooks...?
I give up Mike Williams (TB) for Dustin Keller. I needed a TE backup.
My team:
QB Eli Manning (backup: Ryan Fitzpatrick)
WR Calvin Johnson, Marques Colston, Hakeem Nicks (backups: DeSean Jackson and Mike Williams)
RB Matt Forte, Jamaal Charles (backups: Beanie Wells and Willis McGahee)
TE Jermichael Finley
K Robbie Gould
DEF/ST Houston (backup: Dallas)
Good trade for me?
This is a 10 team non PPR league. I tried getting Fleener and Cook via trade, but the other managers weren't interested. This was probably the best I could do, considering the best TE's available in free agency are Martellus Bennett and Heath Miller (who I actually drafted with a 15th round pick, but later dropped for Dallas' defense).

Sounds about right... I think Dustin Keller could surprise, his numbers have gone up pretty much every year he's been in the league. With Plaxico gone he may get more targets in red zone opportunities. Considering your strong point is already your receiving core, I'd say giving up Williams for a back TE could help make your team more durable overall....

I think you're taking a talent hit here. If you have a chance, I think Brent Celek, Jared Cook or Coby Fleener would all be better pickups for Williams.
If you can't make those happen, I think this is an average trade. He's probably getting the upside, but truth be told you're trading a back up for a back up so it's not the end of the world. I actually like Williams this year. I think he has the possibility to really bounce back.
The reason he had so much trouble last year was that he wasn't ready to draw so much attention from secondaries. He had very little help from the rest of his WR core and his QB had a pretty off year. I think with V Jackson his situation is actually BETTER than it was last year, not worse. He'll face more CB 2's and he'll see less double coverage. I think he'll surprise some folks.
As is, you are correct you do need a backup TE. If you have to fill 3 WR slots I might not take it. If you only have 2, yeah you're probably fine. It also depends upon who's on the waiver wire/free agent list too. Go with your gut. I might keep Williams and grab a bottom of the barrel TE like Moeaki for the one week you need a backup

You have one of the best teams I've ever seen. The trade's fine, no reason to start Mike Williams most weeks anyway.
