Colonoscopy question?
Ive been on moviprep since 5 pm. 2 litres of the solution. Im feeling sick, been to the toilet over 20 times. Ive not been allowed to eat since 10 pm and not getting procedure until tomorrow afternoon. Why do I have to starve this long and why the disgusting laxative?

If your colon is full of poop, then the procedure is worthless because that is all that is going to be seen.

If there is a polyp, or inflammation, or diverticula, the doctor is going to see it.

Nothing except a huge tumor is going to be seen here. Scoping this is a waste of everyone's time.
THAT is why you need the laxative. You should be able to have clear liquids up until a few hours before your procedure. It is important to stay hydrated, as the prep will dry you out a lot.
Good luck with the test tomorrow.

The doctor needs a completely empty and clean intestine to see what's the matter with it.
