Do lip piercings prevent you from talking properly?
I really want a lip piercing... My mom doesn't like them but said she didn't mind if I got one. She said the reason why she didn't like them was because you talk differently after getting you lip pierced... And I must be honest, one of my mom's friend got a lip piercing a few years ago, and she never talked the same afterwards. So that makes me a bit nervous.
Btw, how badly do lip piercings hurt? I got my nose pierced, and I felt NOTHING. I only felt when my piercer was putting the jewelry in. I had no infection and my nose was never swollen. I did cry a LOT before getting my nose pierced because I was so nervous.
Thank you :)

You don't talk differently if it's placed correctly.
The only piercing I've had that have affected my speech were double tongue - I have a slight lisp now.
My nose piercing hurt a lot more than my lip.
If you want it, go for it, and good luck! :)

I've had my lips pierced 3 times, and i know loads of people with theirs done, and there is nothing different or weird about how Any of us talk now. I also have four nose piercing and if you were fine with that then I can tell you that a lip one really wont hurt that much at all.
Good luck with getting your lip done!

Lip piercings are less painful than a bee sting, i had snake bites and i am a total sissy for pain. no they do NOT effect how you talk. and they are really fun to mess around with when your bored hehe. i used to have spike tops for mine and i'd kiss my friend on the cheek and stab her :)
