what can someone do with a cell phone picture of your license plate number?

I was waiting in the drive-thru at Dunkin Donuts this morning. There are two different lanes with stop signs for the drive-thru (very weird set-up). I have been there for almost ten minutes and I saw a white car arrive shortly after me. When it was my turn to proceed to the rest of the line, she tried to go too. I rolled my window down and said I've been waiting for 10 minutes and she yelled back she was waiting for 15 when she clearly wasn't. I proceeded to go and then she started taking pictures of my license plate. I didn't want something stupid to get police involved so I let her get her way and pulled out of the drive-thru and went inside to order. I think she still got the picture of my plate number though and I do not believe there are any cameras where this happened. Could I get a ticket? What kind of things could she do with my plate number?

NO ONE outside of law enforcement can do ANYTHING with your lic#. The DMV wont give them any info either. It's just a B.S. scare tactic.

She can look at the picture, and admire how pretty your license plate is. She can't get any information on you from your tag number, and the police won't do anything unless you had just robbed the Dunkin Donuts, or threatened the woman with a weapon. If the police ticketed/arrested everyone who had their tag number turned in for a minor incident in a parking lot, we'd all be broke or in jail by now.

There are cameras taking pictures and video of your car constantly throughout the day if you live in even a medium sized city. Your license number is on display for a reason. It's so people can identify your car from the sea of look alike vehicles.

Anyone can write down your plate number, commit it to memory or take a picture of it and your car. You are in public after all. There's not much she can do with it. You didn't break any laws.

the superb personalised plates i've got considered belong to an criminal professional with a super humorousness...... SHYSTER. The runner up is LIBSDAVE (nicely, i would be, it incredibly is Dave). i've got considered distinctive sensible plates...and distinctive incredibly "uncreative" plates. in my opinion, i might by no potential have personalised plates...it might desire to be a "activity threat" for me...i'm a private Investigator. Kinda hard to be inconspicuous if my plates have been PI GRL. :) related to cost... personalised plates oftentimes run approximately $50-one hundred extra advantageous than commonplace plates, counting on your area. Many states additionally supply "superb" plates that earnings charities (maximum cancers study, kin violence prevention, and so on) or identification the owner as a member of a team/enterprise, and so on. (Masonic inn, Disabled Veteran, and so on).
