Is it lame and egocentric to feel lonely?

I've been on my own for six and a half years now, since I got divorced, and I find that I'm feeling sorry for myself, especially when I see friends and acquaintances all enjoying loving relationships and enjoying the support of wives/husbands/partners. I have a nine-year-old daughter who I love enormously, am I just being childish, selfish and lame wanting more than the love of my cherished little girl? I mean, no 'romance' can match the intensity of feeling I have for her, which is normal, healthy and natural, before any sickoes feel the urge to make debasing comments.

I think everyone has that time in their life where they feel the way you do: lonely. Sometimes having one person that cares about you isn't enough. I don't think it's selfish at all. Hang out with some friends that aren't married or in a serious relationship. Also talk to your daughter about how she feels because how you feel effects other people. She may also feel very lonely.
