Birth control questions?
I'm going to college in a week and my mom is taking me to the doctor to get birth control. Does it help with mesntrual cramps because mine are really bad and also I've seen commercials about birth control (not good ones) so what are the side effects. And what birth control is the safest. I don't smoke or drink or have any prior health problems.

After a while your period most the time goes away completly depending on what kind a birth control your on. so at first you will get your period then it could get shorter but heavier or shorter and lighter. but sometimes when it goes away all the way you still might have spotting :( and thats good you dont smoke or drink :) you should be just fine and your period should go away after a little :) good luck :)

You will get a paper on all the sideeffects and the doctor will sit down with you and tell you what to do, what they wll do to your body and answer any questions u have. U just need to make sure you take them every day :) put a alarm on your phone for a sertian time. I take mine every day at 7:30pm after dinner
