The New Yorker Hotel to the Borough of Manhattan Community College Subway Lines?
Since I'll be staying with student housing at the New Yorker Hotel 481 8th Ave. (Midtown), I'm curious to know the quickest Subway route (and the name of the stations) from that location to the Borough of Manhattan Community College 199 Chambers St. (the Tribeca area) and visa versa.

My friend, since the hotel is near Penn Station, take the Downtown (southbound) 1, 2 or 3 subway line, which is the red line on the map at the link below from 34th Street-Penn Station to Chambers Street.
Once you get to Chambers Street, exit the subway and walk two block west on along Chambers Street as indicated on the map at the link below.
For the return trip to Penn Station, just follow the instruction in reverse.
The one way fare on the subway is $2.25 ($4.50 round trip). If you're in town for a week, or you going to be a frequent traveler to the BMCC, you can purchase a weekly unlimited ride MetroCard for $29, which is a huge money saver.
Good luck
