I am not sure if this can be done but I have a laptop hard drive I want to use on a completely different laptop. I want to keep the data on the old hard drive and use it on the new laptop is this possible? If so how can I do this?

If you're talking about swapping the drive, the answer is no. An installed copy of Windows locks itself to the PC it was installed in.
