Braces!!?? Tips for a Newbie and trouble with spacers?!?
Im getting braces in 2 days and I have some questions?
I have spacers in yesterday and one fell out. I got the orthidontist to put it back in but it fell out later today. Is this going to delay getting braces or does it mess up my teeth to lose one?
Also any tips for a newly braced person would be very appreciatred! :)

Spacers are used for creating space between teeth before braces... if they fall out constantly you should talk to your ortho about it. You usually have spacers for 1-2 weeks, sometimes even less. So even if they fall out, it won't be too much of a delay and spacers won't have anything to do with the actual braces timeframe. When you actually do get the braces on, what they do is clean your teeth before then they put brackets on with special glue and let that dry. (BTW the glue tastes horrible) ONce they have done that, they adjust anything and put the wires in. You get to pick colors and stuff after so they put them on to secure the wires and you're pretty much finished. You're mouth will feel really uncomfortable for the first day but no pain. The next couple of days will be the most painful of your braces expierience (at least it was for me!) the braces shift your teeth and you'll actually see progress!! Stick with soft foods and soups... i used to go to red mango all the time! Don't eat caramel or hard/ sticky things (brackets will fall off) I chewed gum just becuz I was a rebel like that but don't! unless it is sugarless of course (if u wanna chew that bad!) Having them on is soo annoying! Every couple of weeks you go the ortho... they do different things each time. (Change wires, change colors-they did that every time-, powerchains, TIGHTEN THEM!!!) I have to admit, braces weren't all that great but your result will be a perfect smile so hang in there!!!

If you were eating something chewy and the spacer fell out then get it put back in. If it just fell out then its fine. Anyways, for the first week or two, it will hurt so bad to eat anything. Have a lot of soup handy. When I got my braces on I lost 24 pounds in two weeks because it hurt so bad to eat.

once you get your spacers on it sounds like you've somewhat of meat stuck between your the teeth, you may accidently %. it off, so i propose making positive you've spares in case.
