New York city birthday ideas?
My best friend and I are goin to new York city together (with our moms) for a joint birthday celebration. I am turning 16, she is turning 15. We are going for one night in September or October. I need ideas on where to eat and what to do. Thanks in advance.

What are you interested in? If it's only for one night, you ought to come up with a list that you and your best friend agree on, in terms of activities. What types of foods are you looking for? What do you like to do (sight seeing, shopping, seeing shows, etc), or do you want to do a bit of everything? You should email me with answer to those questions if you want to, I might be able to help out a bit more rather than just listing off a bunch of junk. Oh, and I suggest late October, the city is so beautiful then.

Sourstraws' reply is mighty and has a loooootttt of stuff to do (I live in that discipline and people are all exceptional routine for a primary-timer) however if you want to investigate out some areas that locals like and check out to behave all cool and no longer touristy (which I imagine you might as a minimum part of the time:) ) email me and i'd be joyful to propose some spots to buy and devour, and many others. To suit your pursuits:)

It depends where you are going. I'm guessing Manhattan, and theres PLENTY of places to eat. Go down to South Street Seaport if you like Italian or seafood. It depends on what you like, but you can always google resturants or when your there, walk around and see what resturants you'll like to go to.
As for things to do. Again, there's a lot. Chelsea Piers, a tour of the Empire State Building, Museums (my favorite is the muesum of Natural History. Very nice!), go on Broadway if you want to see a show (it's expensive IMO, but Wicked and The Lion King are amazing shows). Madame Tussods (wax muesum), is really nice too. There's a lot of shops to shop, of course. Toys R Us have this really cool indoor ferris wheel, it's pretty fun.
Again, for more things to do...just google it or something. These are just the things off the top of my head.

You could do Times Square, Top of the Rock, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Central Park, or Statue of Liberty (you may need to get tickets/make reservations). I don't know about places to eat. Sorry. Hope this helped.

Well, my two favorites...
Time Square -- Always dazzling to walk around in late at night... I usually eat at Dallas BBQ there. Idk if you like that kind of food though... lol.. There's some shopping there too.
Broadway -- If you're willing to spend the money. So much fun! Last show I saw was "Rock of Ages" and that was hilarious (but it was a little inappropriate, so idk if you'd wanna see that with your guys' moms ;D )
Some other stuff.. Central Park, Top of the Rock, Empire State Building, Fifth Avenue for shopping
