What are the different political point of views?

Liberals seek improvement, embrace change, and are generally pretty progressive in social, environmental and financial matters. They are the left-wing democrats who are often likened to socialists (a form of government where we collectively help one another for the common good.) These people see the world as a complex thing that exists in shades of gray. Conservatives tend to have an idealized point of view when it comes to social and financial matters. They have historically opposed such radical ideas such as women's right to vote, interracial marriages and glbt rights. They also see social services as a "handout" to the lazy and believe that the resulting hardships to the needy would motivate them to become more independent, thus negating the need for social services. These are the right-wing republicans who see the world in black and white. Radical is a term that can describe either side - it merely indicates an excessively strong tendency to one ideal or the other.
