    My brother holds elected office. I think if he dragged our mother to a campaign rally and tried to use her to generate support among her age group I would smack him upside the head.

    Nah. But the Koch brothers will. And they did. When they bought his nomination for $100 million. Who needs a mother when you have friends like that?
