Periods, periods, periods >.<?

My friend is 14 and hasn't started her period, she is worried she won't have kids, blah blah blah, I told her she will get it! She is sad because everyone has started, girls that are bigger and smaller than her. Se is comparing herself! She is normall size and she is worried. What should I tell her? Is this normall? What's the oldest you can go with still not having a period? Thank you (:

    I haven't started my period yet either! I'm 13.

Most girls say that girls that start their periods late are lucky. But starting her period at age 14 isn't late. The average age is around 11-14, so she doesn't need to worry at all. I've heard some stories about girls who didn't start their period at age 18! My Sister started her's sort of late around 15, but my cousin started her's as early as 11!

Tell her she has no need to worry, she must be the eager type to start her period. Half of girls are worried to start their period, and some girls say you get you're period unexpectedly. Like, when you've forgot about it. But thats not necassarily true. Other girls even have dreams about having their period, just before getting it!

She has no need to worry. Plently of girls start later than that, everyone develops at a different age.

Hope I helped! Good Luck with telling her!

This is normal. You start your period when you go through puberty. Every girl is different and some girls don't even start till age 16. If you want more information you can always ask a school nurse or a doctor.

Girls can start from the ages 8 up to even 18. You should tell her that it is completely normal because some girls are late bloomers. She could ask her mom when she started and she will probably start around the time her mom started. Periods aren't as fun as some girls and commercials make them. You are bleeding from your private area for 2-7 days and some people have cramps, they eat a lot more than usual, and they are really moody. In the beginning it is fun because it is new, after you get through five periods all the excitement will go away and stress will replace that excitement because you need to know when to bring supplies and bla blah blah. Sorry its so long.

I was the same way. I never knew when I was going to get my period. My mother said she got hers when she was like 8. Then my sister got hers when she was like 16 and my cousin got hers when she was also 8 so I was kind of scared when it might come some day but I also couldn't wait until then. Then like 5 months ago I got my first period, and I ended my 5th period like 2 weeks ago. I'm happy that I got my period but also not happy at the same time, because my periods were heavy ones so far. She shouldn't be scared or jealous, her period will come soon, I didn't think mine would come until I turned 16 like my sister, but before I knew it I had my first period. I haven't had any cramps so far but she shouldn't be jealous, periods suck. You should tell her that they are REALLY annoying to clean up and it smells really bad down there. I've always gotten some blood on my pants and I HATE cleaning them off. Just keep telling her that she will get it eventually, every girl gets their period at some points, and tell her not to worry, I promise that she will be able to have children some day. I'm SUPER skinny, even though I didn't get my period at a very early age, I did get mine at a pretty decent age. It is normal, everyone is different and gets theirs at different ages. And I read that the oldest you can go without your period is at least 17, if she doesn't start her period near that age or even after, then she needs to see a doctor. But right now she doesn't need to worry, I'm pretty sure she will get it eventually, because if I got mine at this age, then she will get hers too. And I swear I'm really skinny, you can feel my ribs, so if she's a normal size she might start hers soon or when she turns 15. (And I am the same age as her.)

She could just be a late starter and that is completely normal. I didn't get mine very early and I know the feeling. It makes you worried and scared and left out. But even though girls usually start at 12-14, some start at the late ages of 16 and 17. Tell her she's not missing out on much and that she should feel lucky. Plus, it probably means that she'll have it longer than other people so she'll have a longer time to have babies. And when your period starts doesn't have a correlation with if you can have kids.

    Hope I helped

    You should support her

Every girl has to have thier period in order to become a full grown women

And now look tell her, "Having your menstrual is not fun! Why? Because it gets on your nerves and causes aches and can prevent you from letting you do some sports. Periods aren't fun to have and they can cause some trouble. Who cares if you haven't had your period. If you don't have it by the time your 18 or so, you should go check with a doctor." For further details. My mom started hers when whe was 15 and my friends' mom started when she was about 20ish. Trust me, my mom has gone through situations where she had leaked or forgot her pads. My freind's lower portion of her tummy ached. When you first have your period, it might be heavy and it does cause some cramps. It depends on some people. She doesn't have to worry that much now because it's not like she is gonna have a baby at 14 yrs old. But say it in a nice matter and explain to her wiht my given information :)

    Hope this was helpful enough!

Tell her to not worry about anything she is lucky because periods aren't exactly the best thing in life and it's normal for girls to still not have there period at the age of 15-16 but if she gets to 17 and still doesnt have it that's when she can worry

Yeah well I was in the same situation worried as heck and I HATED it when people told me I was licky. The worst part was one peraon found out that I hadnt started at age 14 and told everyone right in front of me. So just tell her not to worry and leave it at that because honestly that was the most awful thing was being told I was lucky. I am delighted now that I have finally started because now I know that there is nothing wrong with me but being the last person sucks so just leave her alone

I haven't started my period and I'm 13. Tell her it's going to come not to worry. Also tell her not to compare herself to others, because she's beautiful the way she Is. She's get it soon. Good luck!
