what breed is this dog? look clsoely at his ears. the shelter has him labeled wrong?

I'd suggest the labels Shelter staff put on dogs is very often inaccurate. They tend to lump dogs into various groups from GSD mixes to Collie mixes, Terrier mixes and Hound mixes etc. This is why I always urge people with missing dogs to GO into the Shelters as their dogs are often in there, under an incorrect label!!

This dog could be a GSD mix, may not be. The colouring would suggest more Lab mix than GSD but you have to consider also, unless this was a deliberate mating which does cloud the situation somewhat there days, what dogs might be roaming around locally to be producing puppies. Like Pit Bulls, Labs, GSDs etc.

What I can see of the tail of this dog would suggest GSD involvement, but who knows.

Hard to say. I see the *possibility* of Akita, GSD, and Lab.

Has the short coat like a Lab/GSD, and the coloring of an Akita. Just depends on what genes were more dominant.

Looks like a red Husky MIX. Markings on head & erect ears = clearly Husky. Short coat suggests another breed, or breeds. Size (height/weight) unknown so I hate to hazard more of a guess as to what else the dog might be.

Looks possibly like a Pit Bull/Akita mix or Lab/Akita mix,just a guess though.He looks like he's in need of a good,loving home though,I hope he finds it.

Looks like it "could" be a gsd mix to me, but then again its a mix and could be any number of dog mixes.

Photos can be very misleading.
