Should I call my boss again?
Ok so here is the story:
Recently I got a new job after I interviewed for it. I got the job offer online, accepted it, filled out the necessary forms/paperwork and am now waiting for orientation to start. Note that this is a part time job at a retail store, as I am 21 years old and still in school. Anyways, I have all my paper work filled, the acceptance letter stated that my employment was effective as of August 12th, but here is the issue - I still haven't gotten called in for orientation. A week ago I called my boss and asked what happened but she said they forgot to call in a bunch of the new hires in for orientation, so she would call us for the next round. A week or so has gone by and still no call. Now I know I am hired, it's just a matter of waiting to get called in again. My question is: should I call back and ask if there is any more news? I don't want to bother my boss as I have already called in to ask questions about my start date about 2-3 times in the past month or so about it. Do you think I should call again and ask even though I was told she would call me? I really want to start and feel like this process is taking far too long.
Thanks!

Hi there,
Yes... call her and respectfully ask if she has any update on when orientation will begin... if she says that she will call you, then ask her if they have told her when the next orientation would be. It is often a good idea to get an estimated time of when you an expect to hear back, and then ask if you can call if you do not hear from them within a couple of days from that time.
There can be a fine line between "bother" and "initiative"... and I would suggest that that fine line is found in the respect you show when you ask for the update.
Good luck!

Some companies only have the orientation every 6 months but if you have an email address i would send an email rather than call them, Good Luck

Expect all their dealings with you as an employee to be just like this. If they don't care enough to give you a call and explain what's going on, don't expect them to give a s$#%t about you once you start work.
Look elsewhere for a job. Any job worth working is somewhere they value their employees. This company does not value its employees. Find another place to work, or you will be PO'd about this kind of thing for your entire time there.
