Why everybody puts Lakers as the favorites for 2013?

If you are a Laker fan ok, but if you are not pull your head out of you anus and realize that Lakers are not even favorites to win the West, and that is what most NBA experts said on ESPN

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/page/5-on-5-120810/...

here they all say Miami is still favorite for the championship and OKC is favorite for the West

they also said that in the playoffs young legs also prove to be better than old legs, which is what the Lakers have, by the next playoffs;

Nash will be 39

Kobe will be 34

Gasol will be 33

and Howard had a serious back surgery, herniated disk repair with removed fragments

on the other hand just look at the qualities of each player, Nash is simply not good enough to hang with CP3 and Westbrook when they meet in a series, I dont care how many championships the Lakers have won while Kobe was on the team, he does not play on that high level anymore, he shoots less than 45% from the field and his defense is lagging, Durant can tear him up again like he did last playoffs, Gasol is soft, we all know that, dirty Perk and Iblaka will give him hell again, and then Dwight, well he is not exactly the savior type of player either, he is not a consistent scorer, which is what LA needs.

and one more thing: http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/49149/a...

here is the article explaining why Howard will be in LA for only one year, or if he wants to stay Nash and Gasol have to go, Lakers again are exceeding the salaray cap, with the new deal agreement which starts next summer teams will be charged for exceeding the cap 5 times more than they used, the agreement was made with the purpose of not having superstars joining the same team.

So, I really dont know why everybody seems to be expecting Lakers to win it all. Even on paper they dont look as good. Mike Brown, I dont think so. Any true basketball fan with some knowledge about the league know that Miami are the favorites no if's or but's. Who do you guys think will be crowned in 2013?

Update:

You are wrong Jalen, the Lakers are nothing like the Heat, like I said, Nash is 39, Kobe 34, Gasol 33, Dwight injured. Wade, Bosh and James are all in their prime

    Lakers are a big franchise and they get a lot of attention. They got top 5 point guard and best center in the league playing with Kobe. Age isn't that much of an issue. Nash did well last season. He is mostly a passer so he can still pass well at that age, Kobe have a high ppg last season and he still continues to play at a high level. Pau is still a skilled(not athletic) forward to can pass to his teammates well. Don't automatically assume that age means no championship.

    Mavericks had an old Dirk, Terry, and Kidd and won the championship against a young Heat, so I don't see why Lakers can't make it happen. However if any of the Big 4 members are injured, they are in danger.

    Are you kidding? Lakers are silimar to Heats when it comes with superstars/allstars. Kobe Byrant is the face of the lakers. Gasol is a good spain player. Nash made the decison to play for Lakers and people proudly support him because he needs a ring since he's old and has 2-3 years left in him. Even center Dwight Howard is a big impact as well. So they have 4 superstars in their lineups. They're great but have to see how they do this season plus their biggest rival is OKC.

    Lakers have the best line up on paper. I know they are old, but especially Nash is still playing like he is 25. As for coaching... I mean Miami won with a bad coach too, so...

    That said I still have Miami just hoping that they would play it right. I believe they have accepted their identity as a shooter team which they were built for (as opposed to only isolation plays). If Miami plays like the previous playoffs they will beat any team.
