North Carolina license plate transfer question?
I would like to transfer my license plate to a new car we just bought, however it says on the DMV website that the name on the title has to match the drivers license of the person that wants to transfer the plates. Now, my dad's name is on the title but he is unavailable to go to the DMV. Could my mother get the plates transferred with me? (She's got the same lastname as my Dad, act.) but the car's title is under his name.

Your rather smart and know the answer already. Only the title owner can transfer the tag.
