RIDDLE- Thinking of a 3 letter word?

Good try Alyssa, but "fewer" doesn't really define "few."

Not the word I'm looking for, this requires a little 'out-o-the-box' thinking.

Good one, Jason- and that's about as "close" as my word's definitions are... but that's not the word I'm looking for. I'll award you the points if nobody guesses mine, yours is best so far.

Bit / biten?

I couldn't find "biten" in the online dictionary...do you mean 'bitten?'

Glad to see you still trying but who/whose isn't the one I'm looking for either. One more wrong guess where some one doesn't give me what I'm looking for and I'll add a clue. Right now my suggestion is to "think outside the box" when coming up with the word.

The word "One" is the correct answer. If you read the above comments, you'll see I was feeding you the word all along. Although Red-Rose came up with the right word, no one altered the word to reveal which two letters must be added to the word "one" to define itself- Any ONE know?

If you take this three letter word and add two letters, it defines itself. After Jasmine's guess I see if you also add only one letter, it again defines itself. We know so far the three letter word is one.

ThirdEarthAge, great guess! The word one, add 1 for lone, add two for loner fits all the criteria.

However that STILL isn't the word I originally started out looking for. But really, that's pretty mind blowing you came up with a totally different word that fits. In my congratulations to RedRose, there are several clues.

Although Third Earth Age is congratulating jasmine and suggesting Jeff plagarized (which may have just been an oversight) when scanning the answers I noticed that MATT submitted One, Lone and Alone a day ago, and Jasmine's answer is only 20 hours old. So it appears to me MATT has submitted the correct answer and wins the points. Thanks to everyone who played. If I could split points, Red-Rose would get some for coming up with the right word "One," and Third Earth Age will always be remembered as coming up with their very own correct answer.
