College is starting for me next week and I'm getting a MacBook Pro 13' for 1099, well I live in New York and?
Tax is 8.35 so is my calculations right with the tax I would be paying
1099*1.0835=1190.73
and can someone tell me how much would it round up to with the 10% school discount?
I live in Bronx Ny but going to buy it in manhattan

Discounts are applied before sales tax so the pre-tax price is:
$1099 * 0.9 = $989.10
With an 8.35% sales tax, the total is:
$989.10 * 1.0835 = $1071.69
PS. Where in New York do you live? I don't see any cities with 8.35% sales tax. You might want to double check your rate at http://www.sale-tax.com/NewYork

Hi there,
I believe the final cost will be $ 1071.69
The 10 % should be deducted from the original price of $ 1099 - (1099 *.9 = 989.10)
Then the tax of 8.35 would be applied to 989.10 (989.1 * 1.0835 = 1071.69)
