Hypothetical: What if the universe was inside of you?
What responsibility would you have? And what's the difference between that and having the universe be external? And what does that say about us?
Your thoughts.
Please elaborate.

I can't think of what isn't the universe.
When it comes to responsibility, it isn't totally if at any dependent on the ground of being (probably relative).
It does say something about the internal external but only after you have developed that "level" of thought.
It says a something about us, but I'd rather let you learn through your own self-discovery.

Philosophers believe the universe exists within life instead of life existing in the universe. Either way it makes no difference. In my years I have discovered the only true meaning to life is Love. Whether that be the love between a man and a woman (oh plus homosexuals) or the love of your dream job. In my opinion all we really have to do in life is find Love in as many ways as possible before life is over.

I believe universes exist wherever molecules are spinning. Inside us, around us... everywhere. And likewise, our universe could very well reside anyplace... perhaps within another being. As for responsibility, I actually feel none for the beings that exist within my physical body. My responsibility is to myself, to keep my body strong because it is the vehicle that houses my soul, just like their responsibility is to themselves. Each of us incarnates into physical beings for one reason... to learn, not necessarily to protect others, no matter where their universe is.

Why is this question hypothetical?
The universe is inside of us.
Within our bodies, within our minds, and within our entire beings. The evidence is within the constructs of the external appearing worlds we create.
The resposibility we have, has never changed....."To thine own self be true and it follows etc."

for some this is very real. I wouldnt be surprised if decades from now i end up settling with this conclusion. Once again the egg theory comes in, a derivation of orions belt, the similarity with galaxys to our neurons. Why we get a feeling when something is about to happen, when someone is looking at us, 'speak of the devil'- when we talk of someone whos on their way to us but we dont know it, astrology, numerology etc. All thore things fit in well with this idea.
.
I commend you on your tactical use of the word 'responsibility'. I hope it succeeds in guiding many answers. Not just online but in all aspects of everyones daily lives.
.
Love for yourself, is love for all, afterall. Many of us just tend to read that so very wrong.
.
'when one knows how to listen (read), everyones a guru'
.
I hope you get read right.

In my thinking it is mirroring both within and without us - it says about us that we are socialised into not thinking that whate we do or dont do doesnt matter very much & we are not responsible for very much that is why there are starving children in the world as the buck is always out there

According to Neil deGrasse Tyson the universe IS inside of us.

Our entire existence may very well be in our minds. The experiences of my future may be contained somewhere already within my consciousness, just waiting for the moment of volition. If reality is internal, then I have control over it, be it subconscious or not.
