I try to consider the question as a possibility...no matter how outrageous. If the questioner can imagine it...why can't I? I appreciate all the questions and answers and hope I don't get so jaded to this that I feel justified to judge and ridicule by what I feel are the correct standards. I want to leave my ego behind and explore the possibilities of the supposed; with freedom to leave the rationale and swim in the ridiculous at a moments notice. What was the question again??? Shameless promotion: alientreehouse.com. ..my journey into the artistic realms because I'm sick and tired of intricate gluttony; overthought, overproduced, and overcomplicated modes of expression. So this is me spitting in the face of all that...crude as it may be; embracing the caveman in me.

  • Do you think it is better to believe in gods or aliens...and why?

Which do you think is more intellectually stimulating? And which do you think is more healthy; for us or society as a whole? Do you think there is a connection between the two; why humans are willing to invest time and money in both without any proof?

    Your thoughts.

  • If we search for truth, then why do we also create truth?

Our rational minds can justify almost anything given the right circumstances. How do we keep a separation between what we are looking for and what we just want really, really bad?

Feel free to treat it as a purely hypothetical question.

  • How do you find a solution if we can't agree on the problem?

Perhaps I should have asked this in mathematics, but I'm interested in what you have to say. And if there are any geniuses out there who have a mathematical model for this....please share.

  • Has criticism lost it's meaning?

    or...

Where have all the good ideas gone?

Whichever question you prefer. What got me thinking of this is...I'm sick and tired of criticism; especially in this political climate. It doesn't get us anywhere. They can be very specific about their criticisms, but ask about ideas and it's all, 'uh....well....I can't explain it'. Does being critical of our fellow man give us a false sense of superiority? IDK....but I think the more we do it, the more integrity and accountability get lost in a morass of he said/she said, petty trifles....which might be the goal all along.

  • What is the difference between man and animal?

I know WE are animals too. But what distinguishes us from them....other than appearance? What do we gain from it? And what do we lose?

  • Does judgment always lead to discrimination?

I hate to use absolutes, but...to determine the value of something is to pit it against a contrasting element, no?

  • Is art in the way it's presented or the way it's perceived?

I mean....it can be cathartic and therapeutic, but is it in the act or the way it can affect people profoundly?

  • Which choice do you prefer and why?

    1. There's too much information; we're being drowned in it.

    2. There's not enough information; we're flying blind.

    3. Information stays the same; it's how we seek it and use it that matters.

  • Does every question have an assumption?

I mean...even the simplest questions seem to have one; why: a purpose, who or what: an identity; a distinction....how: a function, etc. Am I wrong? Assuming I'm not, I think assumptions are a major problem. But can we ever get rid of them or just keep them under control; at a minimum?

  • Hypothetical: What if the universe was inside of you?

What responsibility would you have? And what's the difference between that and having the universe be external? And what does that say about us?

  • Are humans just a system of systems?

From our DNA up to our bodily systems; societal...and then what? The next logical size would be worldwide, and then what, astronomical(cosmological?) But I fear we haven't mastered the former yet. What does it say about us....and our role in the universe?

  • Are philosophy and poetry related?

We share a similar category; Arts & Humanities....but are we related otherwise? It seems they are both a way to express yourself through words about how you feel; whether it's with emotion or logic and reason. Am I wrong?

  • Can we have an observation without a judgment?

IDK....it seems like you need one. And I'm using 'judgment' to mean an opinion or a conclusion. But on the other hand, if you were having an experience that didn't make any sense whatsoever, could you observe it without scrutinizing it at all?

  • What denotes a best answer?

What characteristics does it have? Doesn't anyone else but me have trouble choosing a best answer? If I get a large response of thoughtful answers, it's difficult to choose. I usually read the list several times...trying to narrow it down, but in the end, it's really based on how I'm feeling that day and which response speaks to me more. I feel like I'm judging art.
