Do you think it is better to believe in gods or aliens...and why?

Which do you think is more intellectually stimulating? And which do you think is more healthy; for us or society as a whole? Do you think there is a connection between the two; why humans are willing to invest time and money in both without any proof?

Your thoughts.

Please elaborate.

Thanks for trying to get me to elaborate. But I can only elaborate based on the energy that I have at that moment!

I believe in God and I think at the very least it is calming, relaxing and useful for people to believe in Him, as practically you can not rely on anybody who has a material body around you to help you all the way ( at least not at the time of Death)! And as someone else has said, you don't even need to believe in Him, He is the truth... He just IS.

And about Aliens... do you have to go to another planet to find one.. really? There are so many new animals on the news every now and then.. and I am sure there is life on other planets because I have heard it from people that I trust (FYI...with my life). Why do I trust some people with my life? Because I have heard the truth from them... The truth about who I am, about re-incarnation and about God (love) and all that I heard matched my heart, and true scripture (things that God also has said)! The kind of the truth that no-one other than God can tell you. That scientists don't tell you. Scientists tell me I am a bunch of chemicals... God tells me, I am a spirit soul within my body and I leave my body, because my body is not 'me'. He also tells me why I have to re-incarnate and what I should do to get out of the wheel of 'Birth and Death'!

    All the best,

    Rama

It is very presumptuous for the world to think there are no aliens and that we are the only planet with life on it. In my youth I was a big fan of Erich von Däniken, after reading some of his books, but now I am in my 70's and in ill health, a person has to wonder "is there a God". I have always been atheist/agnostic and still lean towards this rather than believing in any god(s). Both arguments can be intellectually stimulating if you are conversing with anyone who is reasonably intelligent and can put their case forward, but I would certainly not invest any money in the Church, as they are far richer than I will ever be...!!!

When I believe there is a God (and I do), I won't discard the notion that there are many other things and creatures this 'All Unfathomable God" has created alongside my existence: ie "aliens" (as we call them). For all we know,....we, too, may be perceived that way by them? *lol*

To believe in God doesn't mean I'm fixated in my narrow thinking that God is limited to creating only the likes of me? My thoughts about Him being the source of all life and existence asks me to entertain even that which is most 'strange and incomprehensible'. If I find myself in great awe of the blue seas below me,.... and the mountains around me,.....or the blue skies and stars above me,....or even the very framework and passions of the man in me;....why would it be inconceivable to believe that God has His Majestic Ways to create many more wonders out there?

Believing in God 'does not require' investing a great amount of money or time. One may set up the most expensive place of worship, or kneel all his hours away ------and still be spirit-short of genuine deeds for Love and God. God is in the Heart ---- not in the pockets.

Investing enormous time and money over superfluous ventures ------is all but man's desire to flaunt himself with the things others can't afford.

After reading the other answers and thinking.... I notice some don't really answer the question, but give their views on what they believe.

Is it better to believe in one or the other? I don't think either is better for some of those who don't believe at all will still insult and be rude to those who do believe in either and those who believe in one or both can sometimes be insulting and rude to those who don't believe.

I think it's better to accept people and stop insulting those who don't believe the same things.

Does it really have to be better for the majority to be acceptable? (wondering)

Proof is not the same for all... some have miracles and such that make them believe... and many would not take that as proof. Once something actually touches you and your life, it becomes easier to understand and believe.

I believe in both. There may not be any proof of God in some people's eyes but in my life, the God force makes itself very real to me on a daily basis. As for aliens, just look up at the stars. It takes a very egotistical person to think that, in this endless universe of ours, we are the only planet that contains life. If that were the case, it would be a monumental waste of space.

Proof of god? Small g god is anything anybody worships like, cars,or money,or people. Alien with a little a is anything we are not familiar with. Like new foods or people. God with a Big G is the Creater of life and love. What and why we choose 'whatever we do' is based on how it stimulates our brain.

People who don't believe in themselves believe in Gods, Demons, Aliens ....etc

Believe in? I personally think to "believe in" anything is to take a giant toke on the pipe of delusion. A thing is either true or not, and we either know that or not. We don't get to "believe in" things. That's just made up.

Imagine if both were a hoax, or if both were real=then what?
