What tires came on the 2009 Subaru Forester XT from the factory?
I bought a used 2009 Subaru with 24,000 miles on it. Unfortunately the tires appear to have 40,000+ miles on them (according to a tire dealer that examined the tires) - so Iam going back to the dealership to haggle this out but, I'd like this ammunition. A car with 24,000 miles on it should come with tires that have 24,000 miles on it right? I have had this happen before when buying a used car and it is so frustrating!

Subaru used several OE tire models on the 09 Forester XT. The most common, on both the base model XT as well as the Limited, was the Yokohama Geolandar H/T G95A.

Probably Yokohama but Subaru also use Bridgestone as an OEM supplier on some models.
OEM tires do not have wear warranties and are not designed for long wear as this is not a requirement for an OEM manufacturer. OEM tires with 24k on them will look like aftermarket replacements with 40k on them. That is just how it is. Nobody swapped your tires.

Subaru needs a plug transform at 30K for NA and 60K for Turbo. They are dissimilar engines, SOHC vs DOHC. If you consider that Subaru blundered in requiring the NA plug transform at 30K, or do not desire to disburse for a transform at 30K, many like-minded people have left them in longer with no sick consequence.
