Help with phones and wifi connections?

Question

Hey all I am 15 well here's the story I'm at my cousins house babysitting the kids while she works the state fair and I'm super bored I have my laptop out here and they have connections all around just I don't know their password I was told there was a way to see people's password off your cell phones. Now I'm in east Syracuse in upstate New York ( throwing that in incase anyone around me sees this & would let me use their WiFi ) but does anyone know how to get the WiFi codes? I have a virgin mobile anything about that? Please and thank you! ( HTC one V , virgin mobile )

No, I do not think that there is any way you can see the password from your cell phone. If you really wanted the password, you could just ask the owner. The worst thing that could happen is he says no.

you do realize that even if the WiFi networks were open that with out the network owners permission you would be committing a felony... 

if you accidentally stumbled upon an open WiFi network and did no damage, they probably would not bother pressing charges against you.. but if you actively make attempts to break into a secured wireless network, then you are actively engaging in criminal activity, and will face felony computer trespass charges.. 

why not just break into one of the houses that you see around you... just because the door is locked doesn't mean anything.. i am sure they have some food in the fridge, or perhaps they have a big screen TV you could watch while you were in there...
