I have found quite differing comments online on what a high level of C-Reactive protein is.
My last blood test came in at 10.8 mg/L and was told this is "HIGH", that it should be under 8.0 mg/L
I am male in my 40's.
Anyone know if the above is correct?

CRP is an indicator of general inflammation - in my experience its often used in assessment of sepsis - patients with systemc infection often have crp raised over 100. A crp of 10.8 is barely abnormal, and indicates nothing on its own. What matters more is the trend - e.g. If you had an infection, were on antibiotics and your crp went from 15 to 10.8, it would indicate successful treatment.
Can i ask why you had a crp done? Have you had an infection or other inflammatory condition, e.g. Rheumatoid arthritis or something else?

High levels of c-reactive protein mean high levels of inflammation. that's common in lupus... but also in, for example, Graves' disease. Or rheumatoid arthritis. Or sarcoidosis. It's not enough to diagnose lupus, but would mean that lupus is more likely.
