Between the BCT portion and the AIT portion (if he is OSUT), there will be a family day and it is up to his chain of command as to how long his leave is. Most times it is from late Fri morning till Sun evening to about 6:00 p.m. (18:00 in military time). At the end of OSUT there will be another Family Day where they get their blue infantry cord and will have that afternoon to spend with family and have to be back to the barrack by 8:00 p.m. and the next day will be graduation. Split ops for the National Guard works differently, there is a graduation at the end of BCT and another at the end of AIT, but no family day at the end of BCT. Make sure you go to the National Infantry Museum when you go. Also Holiday Inn Express in Phenix City Alabama is very nice.

Army basic isn't 14 weeks, Marines has the longest basic and its 13 weeks. Also I don't think so to the family day.

once you're taking him on his off positioned up bypass, there will be no DI's around. they often enable this on kin day when you consider which you don;t comprehend the regulations in any case and that they have not been removed from their kin previously.
