I will be going to school next year in London. I wanted to prepare myself diet-wise so I'm used to eating the food before I go there. So what is the difference between an average American diet and an average English diet?

english and american diets are extemly similar. however when you go to restaurants their servings are significantly smaller thn ours.

Our diets are similar because we have a lot of choice.
Our bacon is different though - we use full back.
