Ford and Peugeot questions?

I recently bought a used Peugeot & although I think it's cute I don't recommend it if you don't have extra cash on the side for repairs. The spare parts are expensive! I don't know about Fords but almost everyone I know says that the best cars for the UAE are Toyotas & Nissans.

My guess it could be the spare parts . Peugeot is not exactly liked by youngsters and I don't know many girls that want to ride with a guy in a ford focus. Other than that the Focus is a reliable car but bit small if you have more than 2 kids & their toys to lug around. Also not so great for shopping or in a ride to the country side , small wheels small trunk. It can't exactly go off road either.

as far as i know, peugeot ruined its reputation when it first lunched in uae and gcc in general as it was not modified/equipped for the middle east like all the cars used to do, so the hot sandy weather made it a very bad car to own and maintain, and they have been facing an uphill battle to restore a good reputation, that as well as the expensive spare parts and their availability.

as for the for focus, well in my opinion it was a rubbish car everywhere until recently, for the past couple of years ford was making huge forward steps...and the latest models havent been that cheap either, i dunno about the 2nd hand ones, but i dont expect a lot of depreciation with the new models...but in general all american cars have bad depreciation, so u can get any american car cheaply.

all depends on demand

then buy the cheap nissan, honda, hyundai, kia, or in other words low end models like honda city, nissan tiida, hyundai elantra etc.

because there's new version coming out and it's better.
