Good question. I wish it were easy to answer. It all depends on where you live, really. Out west, especially BC and Alberta, Telus offers some pretty good deals, have a great selection of phones and fantastic coverage. I think you can get a good plan with data for between $40 and $50 a month. Without data you can get it for about $35.

Southern Ontario is Rogers-land, although Bell competes pretty good. I think you can find better deals with Rogers, though. One thing to watch out for with Rogers is what you see isn't always what you get. Bell is a bit pricier, but they have the best 4G network in Canada and your bill is always what they say it will be.

There's a few smaller operators, like Wind mobile and Sasktel, but they only have coverage in a limited area and don't have the best selection of phones.

Virgin Mobilie is owned by Bell, Fido is owned by Rogers and Koodo is owned by Telus.

In my own opinion, Telus is the best of them.
