There's a messenger on your Yahoo Mail page and as long as you're logged in to Yahoo this messenger will work for you.
Three Ways to Start a Message
From your Inbox, you can send messages via email, IM, or text (SMS).
1 For email, click the compose message button. A new, blank email will open in a new tab.
2 For IM or SMS, click the down-facing arrow next to the button. From the menu, select the type of message you want to send.
3 Contacts who are online appear to the left of your Inbox. To IM a message, click the contact's name. Right-click for more options
