Fibromyalgia can feel like the flue, like you've been hit by a semi truck, or just muscle aches that don't go away. Not everybody feels the same.

There are so many symptoms and that is why the doctors have to rule everything else out. Insomnia, fatigue, brain fog where you can't think clearly and are forgetful. If your a woman, you may feel like your going through menopause- cold, then hot, cranky, mood swings, depressed- most of this from lack of good sleep. The strangest symptom I have that started me out researching my symptoms online was that it felt like my breast bone was being pulled in two. That search lead me straight to medical sites describing fibromyalgia, or FMS.

Those are just to name a few. Shooting pain, yes, sometimes fast, sometimes sticks around for weeks. tingling, not really, although I have heard from others that they do.

Pain in the same place every day, sometimes. There are a few days that the pain is minimal, then I overdo it because I want to get things done, and back to bed I am the next day. The pain has been so bad that I was literally bed ridden for almost an entire year when it first flared.

I have a journal on my website if you are interested.

No. Fibromyalgia involves tiredness and pain. The pain may be caused by hypersensitivity of the nerves and it is diagnosed by tenderpoint examination. Many things--including extreme stress-can cause symptoms related to fibromyalgia.
