I don't think the fiddle had been created as yet--
Nero would have had a LIRE(lyre)..or a HARP..
Why would Nero--remain in his place..while Rome was burning..?
Because he had his own--personal fire rescue team..
It might be the case of Romans--useing fire to destroy disease..

He din't say anything, apparently he wasn't even in the city when it was happening, when he heard of it he rushed back to Rome, and apparently personally assisted in the clean up. People were blaming him though, so he deflected blame by blaming the Christians.
