Please give me a story suggestion!!?

Did you mean no romance and no vampires, or no romance, BUT vampires?

If you're looking for something supernatural - which your setting suggests you are - then perhaps the house in the forest was the scene of some tragedy that happened years ago. The inhabitants could be people/person closely involved in the tragedy, living in solitude with it, or could be new comers who are of yet unaware of what happened. Maybe there are ghosts, or just dead bodies hidden, or someone hiding in the forest.

Maybe the people in the house are protecting someone - maybe someone with a curse, or who was bitten by a werewolf, or a serial killer, or maybe just someone with a mental disorder - and are keeping them away from the harm of themselves or others.

Or maybe the person in the house is insane/cursed/some kind of supernatural killer/a ghost.

You could always have a more real-life story, and the people maybe just like solitude.

Or you could take a little something from children's fantasy stories, and have the forest be a setting where there are either real or imaginary monsters, maybe that only the children can see, or maybe it's a setting where time is unstable - entering the forest could lead you into a completely different time period, or a different world, or parallel universe.

Maybe there's a harmless creature - an animal of sorts - and there's someone living in the house trying to keep it a secret.
