Neither of those parties honor that. The Republican Party obviously intends to be a daddy for the spoiled and sheltered little children in adult bodies our society has become and the Democratic Party intends be a mommy. Both pretend they can protect us from all ills and expect us to obey their rules and pay their taxes. They get away with that because so very many of us now want them to pretend they can protect and care for us thumb-sucking little baby citizens. Then we can pretend we are safe. For that imagined security we agree to obey their rules and pay their taxes.
