It is not that you see a big difference, or you notice any thing right off that bat. But what you do not see is that AMSOIL is Full Syn Oil. It is not a Blend it is not just oil. if you take the time and read a few things on the qt bottles you will see a few things different. the things that makes AMSOIL the best of the best, is the abilility to give you better gas mileage, better preformance, clean and protect your vechiles, Motor, transmission to your Rear Axle. With the oil and the oil filter your drain intervals are fewer in between, which now saves you money in the long run taking fuel improves, less repairs and fewer oil changes.
Source(s): www.lubedealer.com/rutholiversynthetics/home.aspx If you type in AMSOIL Ver any oil the stats will show. yes it is expensive but if you and the best you pay a few dollors more and you are taking care of you Vechiles all the way around - GraceLv 45 years ago
Royal Purple seeks heat and the engine runs just a bit cooler, due to its additives. So, I use Royal Purple during the summer and Castrol Syntec in the winter. The cost of Royal Purple has steadily come down, so it makes economic sense to use it. When Mobil 1 was very costly (in the 90's) relative to conventional motor oil, many people did not switch to Mobil 1. Mobil 1 has changed their marketing to make Mobil 1 more affordable. Amsol (in my opinion) has missed the mass market by keeping their product off the shelves of Auto part stores. It may be too late, as the synthetic oil market has reached 50% of the motor oil market. See for yourself. Go to your local Auto part store and you'll see that half the shelves are synthetic now.

In terms of everyday passenger cars, there isn't much of a difference. Both fluids are high end and will perform very well
