What is easy and fun to knit?
Hi! I'm a beginner to knitting, and want something to knit. I am very beginner, and have only knitted a few solid color scarves. I want something new now, but I can't think of anything. I want something easy and that preferably uses only the knit stitch. I am planning on learning the purl stitch soon, though.
Socks and too hard, so are sweaters, blankets are too large, etc.
If you have any helpful websites or something, that would be GREAT!
Thanks so much!
I was going to learn the purl stitch before beginning the next knitting.

The first thing you need to do is master the purl stitch! When one can knit and purl, one can make any stitch pattern. You also need to master several methods of casting on, two or three methods of binding off, increasing, and decreasing. When you can do that, you can make anything you like.
As to size of project, I suggest that you consider making an afghan either in strips to stitch together, or in squares to stitch together. Either would be very simple to do, and by using various colors of yarns you can make some wonderful color patterns.
Socks are not a good choice for beginners at all, and even intermediate knitters often have great difficulty and frustration with socks.

How much time do you want to spend on it? There is this beaded knit scarf, but it takes longer because of threading the beads. There are "crazy yarn" ones you can do that automatically make it multicoloured and textured. Just collect all the little leftovers, knot them leaving a few inches of each at the end, keep rolling and adding yarn. Then use this to knit your scarf. You can e-mail me if you want. I've got a few patterns as pdf and web pages saved.
