I FEEL SO ALONE AND I HAVE NO ONE?? MY ONLY FRIEND STOPPED TALKING TO ME?

im really not good at making friends and im really shy and awkward, im trying to be more outgoing but its hard when shy is my personality. anyways my only friend stopped hangingout with me and she moved on to other people, i always used to ask her to hangout but she said she was busy and i told her how i felt, and she just said shes been busy.

so im deciding to forget her becuase now i look dumb, but i have no one else and i feel very alone, im going into 10th grade and everyone already has their cliques, and they wouldnt accept me anyways. probably because of the way i look or i cant ever think or anything to talk about? i dont know

but its so hard

and i try so hard to make friends but no one likes me or makes any effort to be with me, when i put in so much effort (NOT in a clingy way, trust me)

just go through the school day casually and at least one person should approach you, start talking to you or whatever and you'll become friends, or you could start talking to whoever sits next to you in class and before you know it you'll be friends with them. just don't come on too strongly.

the same thing is happening with me, except i'm homeschooled so i don't even get the chance to try and make new friends. you'll find someone to be friends with. maybe try talking to someone who sits alone or is really quiet.

Trying too hard. Look for other people who look maybe a little lonely. The outgoing people you are probably attracted to are not going to be longtime friends. The best part is that you will not see the people from high school after you leave. High school people are not nearly as important later in life. People move on one way or the other...my yearbooks are full of comments from "friends" who I have not seen since graduation.

Honestly. Don't sweat it. Life gets tough. Especially in high school. People dont hangout with people for their personalities. People hangout with people for their looks and popularity in high school. Trust me. I just graduated. Just have patience. Don't try too hard. Let it come natural and you'll meet a true friend. You're not alone I promise. Freshman year is always the hardest. I was hated in my school freshman year. Just keep an upbeat attitude and know that there are people out there who would appreciate you for who you are. High school is for your education. Don't worry so much about the social life. You'll find a true friend this year.

I know exactly how you feel girl, back in highschool well for the first two years i pretty much had one friend and I was SOOOO socially awkward that pretty much no one would want to approach me. I know people here are gonna tell you to join clubs and stuff but it honestly doesnt help. As harsh as it sounds the problem is you. I was once told by a counsellor at my school one time, who wanted to help me be more socialable, that sometimes if you want to make more friends if you want to be confident, you have to watch someone who you want to be like (maybe a sociallable and liked girl at school) and you can try to copy her and act like her. I know it sounds like its pretenidng to be someone you're not but eventually you will get used to acting socialable and trust me it really really really helps a lot. give it a try.

I too have felt this way. Honestly just about every friend I had had to make the effort with me. I would like to ask, how do you go about making friends? Maybe your approach is the problem and perhaps you ought to try something different :)

    Stop trying so hard.

I know it's going to sound SO cliché, but that's only because it's the truth: Find the strength within yourself to make friends. I know it seems scary to you, but here's the best tip to making friends-- "You will gain more friends by being interested in them than they being interested in you." Find someone you're curious about and start asking them questions.

Join clubs. Trust me, it's an awesome way to make friends who like the same stuff you do.

I'm having the same problem but like idk like one day I try to talk to more people and it works out and the next day I just can't because I feel ackward but I think we should just try to be our selves which is soo hard for me but I'm trying
